Benefits of Pilates

I found a recent 2022 systematic review demonstrating that Pilates is just as effective as resistance training for increasing muscular strength and endurance when compared with the control group.

That same review proved that Pilates is just as effective as yoga and other forms of static and dynamic stretching for increasing flexibility and balance.

I found another study from 2017 demonstrating favourable weight loss after 8 weeks of Pilates, 3x week 90 minute sessions, with a group of sedentary women.

Takeaway: Any form of structured resistance training is GOOD. Same with mobility training. Do what you love. If you LOVE Pilates, then be consistent with your practice and do it with confidence knowing it’s doing your body GOOD.
